When we were in yellowstone we decided to do the north loop because it was a little shorter and we could see more wildlife. We also wouldn't be able to spend the appropriate time at the geysers on the south loop. In the process we unknowingly missed a turn and found ourselves at the mammoth hot springs. While this would normally be cool we were 2.5 hours from or KOA when we should have been there at the time we rolled into the hot springs. So instead of driving 2.5 more hours we decided to drive an hour north out of the park to a KOA outside of Livingston, MT. Our ETA for Portland is the same so that is good.
We plan on an early start in the morning so see you then.
